Like Charice, Lea Salonga is also raring to sing the Philippine national anthem in the much anticipated "Battle of East and West" match between People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas next month.

"I would love to do it. First of all, I'm already in Vegas, I have concert on May 1. The fight is on May 2, nandoon na ako, kunin niyo na ako," Salonga said.

Salonga admitted that she already volunteered to sing “Lupang Hinirang” in the event, which will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but she has yet to hear from Pacquiao’s camp.

"I have been trying to find a way to get through," Salonga said.

Knowing that other Filipino singers also want to be part of the big event, the world-class artist assured that she will respect the popular Filipino boxer’s wishes.

International young diva Charice has also expressed her desire to sing the country’s national anthem in the fight, which is expected to be watched by millions of boxing fans worldwide.

Reports also surfaced that "Concert King" Martin Nievera is  being eyed to sing in the Pacquiao-Hatton bout.

Pacquiao's camp is yet to announce the decision of the boxer, who traditionally handpicks an individual who will sing the country's national anthem in his fights.
