MANILA, Philippines – Sunshine Dizon is still on cloud nine after tying the knot with her non-celebrity boyfriend 2 weeks ago.

“I’m very very happy, very proud to have a very gwapo and mabait na husband,” Dizon told “The Buzz.”

She said the wedding ceremony was held at Valle Verde 6 in Pasig City last March 20. She and husband Timothy Tan later went to Pasig City Hall to sign their marriage contract, she added.

“Inscribed inside our ring is the date na 3-20, that’s March 20. But apparently ang valid date talaga is when you signed the marriage contract, so it’s 25,” she said.

She added: “I’m vey very very happy and I hope people are happy for me. And sana din tigilan na din ang chismis. I guess some people talaga are very insecure with their lives na kapag may masaya kailangan palungkutin.”

The actress was referring to rumors that cropped up following her simple and private wedding with Tan. Rumor has it that Dizon was already pregnant, thus, her hasty marriage. Speculations also said that her parents have been left in the dark.

Some tabloids also reported that Tan has a child out of wedlock, and that he left his baby and the mother of his child to be with Dizon. Tan is a pilot who belongs to a well-off family in Pampanga.

In her “The Buzz” interview, Dizon finally clarified these issues. For one, she denied that she is pregnant.

“Sabi nga nila bakit daw parang ang bilis. There have been chismis about it na baka I’m pregnant. No, I’m not… ‘yang mga baby, baby you cannot say for sure kung kailan [darating]. Sabi nga ng mommy ko, ‘Huwag mong hanapin, kusang darating ‘yan,'” she said.

She was also visibly annoyed that some people would insinuate that her parents were not told about their plan to settle down.

She said: “Pwede ka ba namang magpakasal na hindi alam ng magulang mo? When Tim asked my mom for my hand, my mom said ok lang. My mom’s very happy and very supportive of us. My dad was a little surprised. But my dad feels like it’s about time na din for me.”

As for Tan’s love child, “The Buzz” reported that Dizon’s husband did not deny that he has a child from his previous relationship. He, however, denied that he abandoned his responsibilities to the child, according to “The Buzz.”
