Actress 'out of danger zone' after jellyfish attack
MANILA - Erwan Heussaff lashed back at girlfriend Anne Curtis' detractors amid the actress' recovery after being attacked by box jellyfish early this week.
The popular food blogger, Curtis' boyfriend of over three years, took to Twitter Thursday to call out critics of the "Dyesebel" star, who was stung by box jellyfish while taping for the ABS-CBN series last Wednesday.
"For all of you idiots making fish jokes, the box jellyfish is one of the deadliest animals on earth... Judgmental asses," Heussaff said in a tweet that linked to a Live Science report about the sea creature.
In the Philippines, around 20 to 40 people die from stings by box jellyfish every year, according to the United States National Science Foundation (NSF). The same NSF report added that a person stung by box jellyfish may be dead within three minutes.
Curtis' younger sister, actress Jasmine, similarly came to her defense earlier on Thursday amid speculation surrounding the "It's Showtime" co-host's reported confrontation with singer-actor Sam Concepcion.
Concepcion is the rumored boyfriend of Jasmine.
"It hurts me to see some saying that she deserved this when no one deserves to be in risk in terms of health," Jasmine said. "How could anyone wish this upon another?"
While Curtis admitted speaking with Concepcion about her sister at a party, she denied humiliating the "Mirabella" leading man as alleged in the report that cited unnamed sources.

Meanwhile, Curtis, who is currently confined at St. Luke's Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City, said she is set to undergo another test for her heart.
"Thank you my sweethearts for all your messages. I am officially out of the danger zone. Just have one more test for my heart," she said on Twitter on Friday evening. "Please pray for me that results are positive. For now, I'm glad to be alive. Thank you Lord. Thank you again for all your prayers."
