Comedian Jason Gainza out of danger
Comedian Jason Gainza is now in stable condition after he collapsed during taping for comedy show “Parekoy" early Sunday.
In a report from weekly entertainment show "The Buzz," one of the hosts Jobert Sucaldito confirmed that Gainza was given clearance from his doctors to leave the hospital after he underwent a series of tests. Reports said the comedian suffered from gastritis, which is the inflammation of the lining of stomach.
"Isinugod nga po siya ng madaling araw sa Saint Luke's hospital. Anytime po ay pwede na siyang i-releae dahil ayon sa finding ng doctors ay gastritis ito at 'yong ECG (electrocardiography) niya ay clear," Sucaldito said.
It was host Kris Aquino who first broke the news that Gainza collapsed while taping for "Parekoy."
“’Parekoy’ is being combined with ‘Banana Split.’ While they were taping last night, Jason Gainza collapsed. Nanigas ang isang parte ng katawan [niya]. Dinala siya sa ospital,” Aquino announced Sunday on "The Buzz."
Co-host Boy Abunda said the incident occurred around 3 a.m. Sunday.
Gainza rose to fame after he was named first runner-up in reality based-show Pinoy Big Brother in 2005.
Aside from Parekoy, he appeared on numerous television shows including “I Love Betty La Fea,” “Volta,” “Lastikman,” and “Aalog-Alog.” He is also part of travel show “Trip na Trip.”
