“Diamond Star” Maricel Soriano has shared that “King of Comedy” Dolphy Quizon is her mentor and inspiration.

"Kasi unique siya, magical, different, walang katulad. Mayroon siyang magandang puso. Ibang klase ang taong ito," the actress told entertainment show “The Buzz.”

Soriano,  who started to work at the young age of nine, once played Dolphy’s daughter in the defunct hit television series "John En Marsha."

Soriano said the comedian would always be a father to her.

The actress said that, like Dolphy, she also wants to help and make people happy.

Soriano, who took a long break from doing films and television shows, is the lead star of horror flick “T2” under Star Cinema.

Directed by well-acclaimed director Chito Roño, “T2” will be shown on Black Saturday in theaters nationwide.
