MANILA -– Gretchen Barretto no longer wants to discuss their family feud which has been making headlines since 2013.

Speaking to entertainment reporters over the weekend, Barretto said she now only wants to focus on the positive things and leave the negativity to the past.

“It’s not important anymore. We have moved on. It’s been a year. Things change, people change. Enough is enough. We have become very positive. We have been living quite a comfortable, peaceful life. To deal with negative things, what for? What will we achieve?” she said.

Barretto is hoping people would respect her decision and stop asking questions about their family.

“I really don’t want to talk about it. I hope you respect me. I’ve said it many times… I’ve spoken, I’ve said my piece… I am happy. Don’t make me unhappy,” she said.

Barretto added that bringing back the past is pointless. “It’s part of my past. I like my present and I’m looking forward to a great future,” she said.

Dominique joining showbiz?

Meanwhile, Barretto said she is glad that her daughter Dominique is slowly stepping into the limelight as the newest endorser of Bench.

“She will be more fabulous than me, believe me. I dream for my daughter to be better than me in every way. Kung nanay ka, iyan ang gusto mo para sa anak mo,” she said.

Asked if Dominique also plans to follow her footsteps in showbiz, Barretto said: “I really don’t know. Right now we are spending a lot in sending her to school. I want her to be a successful international designer. That’s what I dream for her.”

However, she said she won’t stop Dominique if in the future she decides to venture into showbiz.

“Of course, ito ang buhay na kinagisnan ko. She’s always going to be a part of show business because I’m in showbiz, Julia is, the family is,” she said. “[But now], she’s doing commercials and 'yun ang mga gusto niyang gawin.”

After her launch as Bench’s newest endorser, Dominique immediately left for London, where she’s studying interior design.
