PNoy wants to make Bimby's wish come true
MANILA - President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III said he is trying his best to make the birthday wish of his nephew, James "Bimby" Yap Jr., come true.
In a taped message aired on "Kris TV" on Friday, the President acknowledged two of Bimby's wishes -- for the Philippines to be rich and for world peace.
Bimby is the son of the President's sister, TV host and actress Kris Aquino.
"I heard that for your birthday you wished for world peace and for every Filipino to be rich. I want you to know that the vast majority of our countrymen who are older than your generation are trying very hard to make your wishes come true. We are working to make the country safer and to make sure that we will give the poor the help they need," he said.
"But you have to remember, when you grow up it is you and your generation who have the responsibility to make the Philippines an even greater country than it is now. I hope that when you do grow older you will be as kind as you are today and you will do your part in helping our country reach greater heights."
Bimby, who will turn 7 on April 19, shared his seven birthday wishes:
1. Make everyone rich. I want the Philippines to be rich.
2. To make me a soldier because I want to protect people.
3. Everyone to be safe from crimes. World peace.
4. To have lots of XBOX 360 disc games
5. To become a superhero
6. To have my mama forever
7. To have a Minecraft-themed party
Last Tuesday, Bimby had a Minecraft-themed birthday celebration with his family, friends and classmates.
