On Wednesday (Thursday in Manila), Sanchez chose the lesser-known song "Stuttering" as part of this week's theme of Songs from This Decade.
Jackson said Sanchez is setting the bar really high for the American Idol Top 7 contestants.
"Dude, that was superb. That was, like, at the highest degree... To me, right now, you slayed the biggest fish of the night," he said.
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was also all praises for the young Mexipino.
"Jessica, every time I hear you sing, I forget where I am," he said.
Jennifer Lopez urged Sanchez to take a page from fellow contestant Joshua Ledet. "You can do it. You can show us something we've never seen!"
Jimmy Iovine said Sanchez has a voice that "can move anybody."
"She has soul, power, finesse," he said.
Among the remaining 7 “Idol” contestants, it was only Ledet who made the judges stand up on their feet with his rendition of Bruno Mars’ “Runaway Baby.”
Meanwhile, TV critics were also in agreement in saying Sanchez made another impressing round this week.
According to zap2it.com, Sanchez did not only slay the song but the whole competition.
Newsday said Sanchez, along with Skylar Laine and Colton Dixon, “once again topped another strong night vocally" for "American Idol," as the contestants picked from songs made in 2010, 2011 or 2012.
It even emphasized what mentor Akon told Sanchez during the rehearsals. “I knew from day one, I said she is going to be a legend one day. I believe it. I really do," Akon said.
USA Today, on the other hand, said that while Sanchez picked a lesser-known song, she was still able to make it her own.
“The audience may not know the song, but they won't soon forget Jessica's performance of it. It's a stunner,” it said.
Aside from “Stuttering,” Sanchez also performed Kelly Clarkson's "What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)" with Ledet and Hollie Cavanagh.
On Thursday night (Friday morning in Manila), one more contestant will be booted off the competition.
“American Idol” alumni Jennifer Hudson and James Durbin are expected to perform on elimination night.
