Arnel Pineda, the Filipino lead vocalist of American band “Journey,” is set to lead the environment protection campaign of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). 

Pineda will be in the forefront of DENR’s campaign to raise public awareness on the degrading state of the environment and ways to save it.

The singer has been recognized by the DENR  for his efforts to promote environment protection.

Pineda and DENR Secretary Lito Atienza will draw up projects to help save and protect the environment. Atienza  commended Pineda for being a good role model to Filipinos and for his courage to achieve his dream.

Pineda, who rocketed to fame when he was named as the newest vocalist of “Journey,” has revived “Asin’s” hit "Kapaligiran."
