Crooner Christian Bautista revealed that he is not discounting the possibility of him entering the world of politics.

The “Josh Groban of the Philippines” said it will be an honor to help his fellow Filipinos.

"If I will be given a chance to help, why not?" he said.

The singer disclosed that a lawmaker, whom he refused to identify, once gave him this advice: he can help the Filipinos in two ways, by singing or joining politics.

"[He told me], 'it doesn't mean that you have to go into politics just to help. It doesn't mean na it's the only way. Sometimes, it's more beneficial if you will stay as a celebrity and help,'" he said.

There were also offers for him to run and join a certain political party.

"Walang formal offer pero may mga pahaging," he said.

However, Bautista said he is not yet “encouraging” and “nurturing” the idea.

"Parang mayroong (tawag sa politika) pero sa ngayon 'no' muna. Mayroong dugong pagka-nationalistic na dumadaloy sa akin pero let's see," said the crooner, who is a distant relative of the Revillas and grandson of a former justice of the Court of Appeals.

"I don't know why but at the back of my head parang when I grow up there is this feeling pero I'm not encouraging it and not nurturing it yet," Bautista added.

Bautista is now the ambassador of Promil Pre-school's “I-Shine” program, a workshop that aims to encourage children, aged four to seven, to develop and nurture their artistic talents, especially in music.
