MANILA - New teasers for ABS-CBN's "The Voice Kids," the second edition of the hit reality show in the Philippines, show its superstar coaches attempting to recruit young hopefuls.
The "Blind Auditions," as in the hit first season last year, has the coaches screening potential recruits with their backs turned. A button press which turns their respective chairs signifies interest to have them join the team.
This time, children aged 8 to 14 will get the spotlight.
In the two 30-second previews released on Wednesday, coaches Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo Manalac share what they are looking for in a "The Voice" contender.
One teaser shows Manalac telling fellow coach Lea Salonga, who is seen hugging a contestant, to return to her seat as he takes his turn to convince the child to join his team.
In the debut season of "The Voice of the Philippines," Manalac, Geronimo, and Salonga were joined by The Black Eyed Peas' Allan "apl.de.ap" Pineda.
To be hosted by Alex Gonzaga and Luis Manzano, "The Voice Kids" is billed as a "back-to-back" offering in tandem with the second season of the format for adults.
Last year, Mitoy Yonting of Team Lea was named the first-ever "The Voice of the Philippines" following the show's three-month run as a top-rating program and consistent trending topic online.
