Local showbiz Megastar, actress Sharon Cuneta finally put an end to the possibility of doing a movie again with her former husband, comeback actor Gabby Concepcion.
In an exclusive interview by ABS-CBN News Bureau chief Danny Buenafe in London, Cuneta said that she decided not to do a film with Concepcion since this will only create a lot of intrigues that would really affect her family.
"Kung sa akin okey lang but you know, I think I don't have the heart to put my husband and my three daughters including KC not only the two little ones sa nakikinita kong mga intriga ... na usually ano, paglalaruan kayo, so huwag na lang, it's not worth it," Cuneta said.
Cuneta is busy shooting her film under Star Cinema entitled "Caregiver." To show his support and love, her husband Senator Francis Pangilinan followed and is with her in London.
Cuneta dismissed the possibility of accepting the project even if the price is extremely high. She said no amount could buy her peace of mind.
"Mga 100 million? Maybe I will think about it, but no thanks, niloloko ko sila (laughs). I think he is happy and I'm happy and we moved on so maybe for now we don't know what will happen in the future baka naman bahala na ang Panginoon doon. but at this point what my heart is telling me is huwag na... Let us give the guy a chance also to shine on its own muna," Cuneta said.
On April 2nd, Cuneta signed a contract with ABS-CBN for her movie "Caregiver". After the signing she shared her thoughts about the return of Concepcion-- the biological father of her eldest daughter KC.
Concepcion is back in the Philippines and is trying to revive his showbiz career after staying in the United States for 13 years.
When asked about how she felt about Concepcion's comeback, Sharon replied that she already gave her statement through entertainment writer Ricky Lo's column.
"Can I just say this, I honestly, honestly don't know. It's different when someone is far away and different when (he's here). I didn't see his interview but I'd been told. But what I said in the diaryo that's essentially (it).
"I hope you understand that it's a very sensitive issue and I'm in a situation that's intrigue-friendly... but I will say that I wish that we could do a movie together because we each have our own life; there are people in our lives now that mean more to us than we once meant to each other, and it's not just our feelings anymore. There are other people involved."
Cuneta however said her relationship with Concepcion has not had complete closure.
Shooting "Caregiver"
"Caregiver" is Sharon's 30th anniversary offering to her fans and supporters, and is also Star Cinema's 15th anniversary offering.
Before going to London, Cuneta said that she is very happy about the fact that she is making her new movie under Star Cinema with acclaimed director Chito Roño at the helm.
But now, the actress revealed that for the first time ever she really had a hard time doing the film because of the very hectic schedule, stress, lack of sleep and unpredictable weather.
"Honestly and quite frankly, I have never experienced such a grueling schedule and it’s so demanding on my physique. I just fought off trangkaso with very strong antibiotics in fact kahapon lang yung last."
Cuneta is now in London with her co-stars John Estrada, Rica Peralejo, Jhong Hilario and Makisig Morales.
She started shooting the movie April 5th, two days after her contract signing with ABS-CBN.
"Caregiver" is a story that tackles the hardship of life of an ordinary OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker).
The film will be Cuneta's comeback movie after four years.
