Korina Sanchez introduced to Araneta clan: report
Sen. Manuel Roxas II has formally introduced fiancée Korina Sanchez, chief correspondent of ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs, to his family, a weekly entertainment show reported Sunday.
“The Buzz” reported that the introduction has been made during a family gathering of the Aranetas in Bacolod Saturday night. The family reunion of the Aranetas is being held every five years, the report said.
“Walang pulitika dito, pamilya lang ito. Natutuwa ako na napakainit at napakatamis ng pagtanggap ng aking buong pamilya kay Korina. Kapamilya at kasabwat,” Roxas said.
On Wednesday Sanchez also joined Roxas’ family in commemorating the 61st death anniversary of his grandfather, former president Manuel Roxas, at the Manila North Cemetery.
Entertainment writer Ricky Lo wrote in his “Funfare” column in The Philippine Star that the two are set to tie the knot before the year ends. The wedding is expected to be attended by big names from politics and show business.
The campaign strategists of Roxas, who is said to be preparing to run for president in the 2010 elections, admitted that Sanchez will boost the political ambitions of the senator.
Roxas has avoided the subject as he maintained that what’s more important is that Sanchez is already part of his family.
