Kim Chiu is one of the most successful “housemates” of hit reality-based show “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB).”

 A half Chinese and half Filipino, Chiu was born on April 19, 1990 in Tacloban City, Leyte. When she was three years old, she and her family moved to Cebu City.

Chiu’s career in show business began after she was named PBB Teen Edition’s grand winner in 2006.  After PBB, her team up with fellow PBB housemate Gerald Anderson became a big hit.

The two starred on numerous television soap operas and movies. Their love team was named “Kimerald.”

Chiu is also an endorser for various products including a popular clothing line.

Currently, Chiu is one of the lead stars of drama TV series “Tayong Dalawa.” 

Recently, the young actress revealed to entertainment reporters that one of her birthday wishes was to gain weight apparently to stop persistent rumors alleging that she was suffering from anorexia, an eating disorder.

Aside from Chiu, model Borgy Manotoc, said to be a “reluctant celebrity,” is also celebrating his birthday today.

Manotoc is the son of Imee Marcos and Tommy Manotoc and grandson of the late former president Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda Marcos.
