Actor and television host Cesar Montano, who studied mass communication, graduated last April 19 at the Philippine International Convention Center Plenary Hall in Manila.

"The Singing Bee" host, who got his bachelor of arts degree through distance learning at Lyceum of the Philippines University, said his college diploma is one of his greatest achievements.

"Nakakatuwa. It's another accomplishment in my life pero talagang  kailangang tapusin  dahil it's a good motivation and encouragement for the young generation especially to my children," the actor told “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon.”

Montano initially took up an engineering course but decided to shift to mass communication.

His advice to his co-actors and the youth: "To my fellow actors, they know na importante 'yong may college degree. Sa lahat ng kabataan, finish your college, it's good for you, good for your family, good for our nation."

Montano’s wife, actress Sunshine Cruz, is proud of the actor. Inspired by her husband’s accomplishment, Cruz said she is now contemplating of getting a college degree herself probably next year.
