Jason Abalos, the 2008 Gawad Urian best actor, has dismissed reports comparing him to established stars John Lloyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales and Diether Ocampo.

"Sila, nandiyan na sila. Ako, nagsisimula pa lang sa showbiz. Hindi mo pwedeng sabihin na 'ako ba?' Hindi pwedeng sabihing susunod ka kasi hindi mo alam kung kailan ka mawawala sa showbiz," he told abs-cbnNEWS.com, reacting to reports that he is being groomed to become the next great young actor like Cruz, Pascual, Rosales and Ocampo.

Abalos, 23, pointed out that he is considered a newbie in show business, hence, he still needs to prove himself as an actor.

Abalos is grateful because there are many offers and projects lined up for him.

The actor was discovered after joining talent search show Star Circle National Teen Quest. After winning the Gawad Urian best actor award last year, he became a household name.

Television and movie projects poured in for the young actor. He starred in numerous television shows and films.

His latest project is TV afternoon series "Kambal sa Uma" with Melissa Ricks and Shaina Magdayao, his new on-screen partner.
