Charice to meet Justin Bieber; defends self from critics
MANILA, Philippines – Philippine singing sensation Charice on Sunday defended herself from criticisms that surfaced following her recent appearance in a popular gay bar in the United States to promote her current international single "Pyramid."
Charice, 17, told “The Buzz” in a live interview that she was surprised that some people made a big deal out of her appearance at Club 57. She said it was not the first time that she went to clubs in order to promote the remix version of Pyramid.
“Hindi lang ako ‘yong nagpro-promote sa mga club. Ganoon talaga sila sa US…. umaalis na po ako [after ng performance ko]. Nagpe-perform lang po talaga ako," she said.
Amid the issue, Charice was happy that Pyramid placed 4th on the US Billboard pop/dance club chart.
Charice also confirmed that her self-titled international album will be launched on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on May 11, with Justin Bieber as a special guest. She said it will be her first time to meet Bieber.
She will also make a special appearance on “Good Morning America,” said Charice.
The launching of her debut album will take place a day after she celebrates her 18th birthday.
When asked about her birthday plans, Charice said: “Nasa New York [kami]. Baka pumunta sa amusement park with friends lang po and family po.”
Charice: Ganoon talaga sila sa US--mga bading
One hot and humid night in Bangkok, Thailand, Gay Gibo and Gordon take a break from their campaign to let it all out. They sit on bar stools in a gay club and converse with each other:
Gay Gibo: (sigh) You know I don't know what to do after I lose in the elections.
Gay Gordon: Well, Olonggapo is a good place to work for "gays" like us. I worked with many Aussie, American and Brit pimps there you know. My government officials made a lot of money by supporting them and creating half-a-million hookers. It's a good business...better than Mar's idea of pimping through half-a-million call boys and call girls in call centers. Shucks! If only Pinoys would vote for us instead of that retard! Then we could make the entire country a whorehouse!
Lady Boy: Hi boyzzz! Can I offer you a massage?
Gay Gibo: Sawadee ka (Live long and prosper). Sorry, we're busy tonight.
Bar Tender: Hey tranny. Leave 'em alone. Don't you know who these people are? They're like Thaksin Shinawatra. They're politicians from the Philippines.
Lady Boy: Mabuhay (Live long and prosper)! I'm a red-shirt supporter tooooo! Byeee honeyyyzzz!
Aussie (to Gordon): Hey mate! Is that you?
Gay Gordon: How's it goin' mate. I haven't seen you in quite a bit.
Aussie: Yeah, I've been busy lately here in Bangkok. I miss the good ol'days when we caged those Filipinas in hidden basements that you and J.C. provided us. Your men are so helpful, mate!
Gay Gordon: Don't mention it! Just look for me or J.C. whenever you visit the Philippines. By the way, this is Gibo.
Gay Gibo (offering his hand): Nice to meet ya mate!
Aussie: Likewise!...Hey, haven't I seen you before? ...Yeah, you're one of my former customers!
Gay Gibo and Gordon laugh together.
Gay Gibo: Yeah, I'm married now. But I miss the good 'ol days.
Aussie: Well, maybe we can talk some business...
And so the night continues with all the gay festivities, parties and who-knows-what-else. They chuckle. They laugh. Everything is business as usual.
Epilogue: Vote for the Whore Not the Pimp
Gay Gibo: All candidates are so evil aren't they? So who should the people vote for?
Gay Gordon: Choose the lesser evil -- It's a choice between the Pimp, the Crook, the Retard and the Whore.
Gibo: The Retard & the Whore are better than the Pimp & the Crook.
Gordon: That's right.
Gibo: People should follow the Middle Way then. They should vote for Noynoy and Loren.
Gordon: Mannn, you surprise me sometimes. You're a genius!
Western Life
Charice, congratulations to you.
You are much bigger than that. International caliber ka na.
Mag ipon ka. Pagbalik mo sa Pilipinas, you can laugh all the way to the bank while they wallow in envy!
Anyway, it's good that her album is doing well. Charice's star will shine ever more brightly. Hayaan na lang niya yung mga intregero't intregera na magsalita dito. By the time she retires from singing, 100 times na mas mayaman siya at mas kilala pa.
So What
I do not understand why there criticizing her for going into a gay bar, all you see on Philippine TV are gays, transsexuals and cross dressers.
Kudos Charice
Kudos Charice! Your song Pyramid can be heard all over the U.S. airwaves and a top hit at that.
Do not listen to your critics in the Philippines. These are nothing but small voices that do not carry any weight at all.
You are an international star and that is what it is. Please concentrate in improving your career in the Western world where your talent is most appreciated.
