Laureta admitted she feels disappointed, but said the setback won't stop her from performing and living her dream.
“I'm definitely disappointed, but this is only the beginning for me. This is just a start. I'm very grateful I was on ‘The Voice’ and given the opportunity to represent Team Cee Lo in the top three of his team,” Laureta said during the anniversary party of 5th Element Magazine, a Filipino-owned publication in the United States.
“I'm going to Hawaii this week. I'm going to do some press and give back to the community and say thank you,” she added.
Laureta, whose journey on “The Voice” was backed by the Filipino community in the States, said she is proud of “American Idol” contestant Jessica Sanchez, who also enjoys the same support from Filipinos all over the globe, thanks to a shared heritage.

“I'm very proud of Jessica. I've been watching her since she was on ‘America's Got Talent,’ so to see her grow so much on ‘American Idol,’ I [feel] very proud. [I’m proud that] she's representing the Filipino community, it's great to watch [because] she's doing it very well,” Laureta said.
While they in part represent Filipinos on rivaling shows (Sanchez recently earned a spot in Idol’s top five), Laureta said she is thrilled that Filipinos continue to be recognized in the international scene for their talents, not just in singing but also in other creative pursuits.
“It feels great to be part of this evolution where Filipinos are representing each reality show, and we're coming up even with this fashion event,” she said. “It's great to see that we’re making this movement. So I'm very proud that the Filipino heritage, we're coming out strong. It’s great to be a part of that.”
