Bea Alonzo wants to 'break up' with John Lloyd Cruz
Actress Bea Alonzo said it is time for her and on-screen partner John Lloyd Cruz to start doing separate projects for them to further improve their craft.
In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Alonzo said their fans might get tired of them if they would forever appear on the same films and television projects together.
"We need that as individual actors so that mas may matutunan kami from different people," she said.
She added: "Mas maganda siguro kung halimbawa makikipag-trabaho siya sa iba at makikipag-trabaho ako sa iba. Kapag pinagtambal ulit kami ay mayroon kami ulit mai-o-offer sa isa’t isa. Siguro mas healthy for us."
The actress admitted that she would miss working with the actor. She said she and Cruz would always tease each other during tapings.
"(Sabi ko sa kanya), ‘actually ma-mi-miss kita kasi 'yong dalawa kong kasama puro abs ikaw ma mi-miss ko 'yong flabs mo,’" said Alonzo.
Alonzo will star on Star Cinema’s “And I Love You So” alongside Derek Ramsay and Sam Milby. Cruz, on the other hand, was named the new “Box Office King” after his and Sarah Geronimo’s “A Very Special Love” and “You Changed My Life” became box-office hits.
Alonzo said she was so proud of Cruz after the success of his two films with Geronimo.
"Naging proud ako sa kanila, naging proud ako na nakasama niya ako kasi I would like to think na kasama niya ako sa journey. He is a very good actor and I'm a fan of John Lloyd Cruz," Alonzo said.
There is also no reason for Alonzo to feel threatened by Geronimo. The actress said she knows that Geronimo is a good person.
When asked if she was willing to do a film with Cruz and Geronimo, Alonzo replied: "Magiging overwhelmed talaga ang reaction ko at excited din kasi napakasarap ka-trabaho ni direk Cathy [Garcia-Molina], ni John Lloyd at ni Sarah."
Although they are now doing solo projects after their defunct hit television series "I Love Betty La Fea," she said their love team is still alive, with their newest television commercial.
"Laging may ganoon everytime na magkakahiwalay kami for a while laging may project na magbo-bonding sa amin. Tapos na nga 'yong ‘I Love betty La Fea’ pero dito sa commercial ay magkasama kami at it feels nice na at least na pi-preserve 'yong pinagsamahan naming dalawa," the actress shared.
Alonzo and Cruz are the latest endorsers of “Greenwich Pizza.”
