Bidding for muscle car reaches P1.8M
MANILA - The bidding for Angel Locsin's 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, which is being auctioned for the benefit of typhoon Yolanda survivors, has reached P1.8 million.
As of 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, the vintage car already received 36 offers from nine unique bidders, with the latest bid at P1,806,000.
The public auction, held online by ABS-CBN's Sagip Kapamilya, kicked off last April 21 and will end on Wednesday, April 30.
The proceeds of the auction will go directly to Sagip Kapamilya and will be used to rebuild schools in the province of Tacloban, one of the worst hit areas by super typhoon Yolanda.
"Angel really loved this muscle car," said Sagip Kapamilya program head Jun Dungo. "She had acquired it from San Francisco, California and she had it shipped here. She saw the victims of typhoon Yolanda and she donated her Chevelle for the love of our kababayans and kapamilyas."
He added: "Ang maganda kasi rito, nakapag-donate ka na, nakatulong ka na, at the same time, meron kang isang magandang muscle car."
