ABS-CBN denies 'It's Showtime' to be replaced
MANILA, Philippine – ABS-CBN on Monday denied that its noontime show “It’s Showtime” will be replaced.
“ABS-CBN is neither replacing ‘It’s Showtime’ with another program nor moving it back to its earlier timeslot,” Bong R. Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications, said in a statement.
In fact, on Monday, the noontime show featuring Vhong Navarro, Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis, kicked-off the launch of its new segments starting with the multi-talent showdown among Filipino families following the inter-town grand finals last Saturday.
Filipino families took the spotlight in the newest talent showdown where five to 25 family members—from the oldest generation to the youngest—showcased their talents.
From a creative presentation to introduce clan members to an exciting physical game and a multi-talent showdown, contestants will be put to test to bring out the fun, excellence and creativity in each Filipino family.
A brand new jackpot game is also in store where lucky contestants can get the chance to win the whopping P1 million prize to be launched soon.
Heartwarming stories will also be featured in “Dear Showtime Family” to give way to simple wishes from the “madlang people.”
“The viewing public can look forward to the launch of new entertainment segments in the coming days as ABS-CBN continues on its mission to bring fun and hope to the Filipinos here and in TFC markets worldwide,” Osorio said.
Last Saturday, Bacolod Masskara was crowned the grand champion in “The Finals: Inter-Town Edition” for their Masskara Festival performance. The group garnered an average score of 10 from the judges and took home P2 million and P1 million for the city they represent.
