Attention all “Noranians:” Don’t be fooled by false hopes.

Contrary to rumors, superstar Nora Aunor, who is now living in the United States since 2005, will not come home this year, said writer Ricardo “Ricky” Lee.

Lee, one of Aunor’s close friends, told abs-cbnNEWS.com that the actress has no plans of going back to the country as of the moment.

“Ang kailangan lang naman ni Guy (Aunor’s nick name) ay kasiguraduhan na may gagawin siyang project sa Pilipinas when she comes back. ‘Yon talagang siguro, official na matutuloy. ‘Yong sarado na,” Lee said.

There were reports that Aunor would star in a Celso Ad Castillo movie. Some scenes, reports said, would be shot in the US. Lee, however, is not aware of the project.

“Wala kaming alam d’yan. Otherwise, may advisory na. Saka, ‘yong dito lang sa Pilipinas ang pinakikialaman namin,” he said.

“Ang dami kasing lumalabas na may project na ganito at gano’n si Guy na hindi naman totoo. Nakakasama kasi kay Nora ‘yon. Sasabihin na hindi siya nagsasabi ng totoo,” he added.

Lee is set to launch the revised version of his book, “Si Tatang At Iba Pang Himala Sa Ating Panahon,” which contains photos and essays on Philippine culture. Lee is dedicating the book to the superstar, who will celebrate her birthday on May 21.

Nori Sayo, Aunor’s confidant and was once rumored to be married to the actress, had confided to a group of movie writers (including abs-cbnNEWS.com) that the superstar could not go back to the Philippines this year.

The actress, according to Sayo, still needs to secure important documents before she can leave the US. The superstar was nabbed at the Los Angeles airport years ago due to possession of illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, Lee declined to comment on rumors that Aunor would not return home as long as President Arroyo still heads the Philippines.
