MANILA – ABS-CBN Corporation continued to pull away from its rivals as it dominated TV viewing across urban and rural homes nationwide in April, boosted by the performance of its noontime show "It's Showtime."

With its strong line-up of shows, the Kapamilya network garnered an average total day audience share of 42% or 12 points higher than GMA’s 30%, based on the data provided by Kantar Media.

ABS-CBN also maintained its leadership in the primetime block from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight, with an average national audience share of 46% compared to GMA’s 29%, and TV5’s 10%.

Aside from the primetime dominance, ABS-CBN also continued to post a wide lead over its rivals in the early afternoon block from 12 noon to 3 p.m., posting an average audience share of 41% versus GMA’s 32%.

This was mainly driven by the performance on weekdays by “It’s Showtime,” which gained a national TV rating of 13.7%, beating “Eat Bulaga” with 12.4%.

ABS-CBN also cemented its lead in the morning from 6 a.m. to 12 noon with an audience share of 37% against GMA’s 32%, and in the late afternoon (3-6 p.m.) with 36% against GMA’s 29%.
