MANILA - In a first for "Pinoy Big Brother" this season, housemates Alex Gonzaga and Axel Torres had a confrontation over a disagreement on the allocation of food, amid limited budget due to the group's failed first weekly task.

In the episode of "Pinoy Big Brother: All In" aired on Tuesday, the housemates agree to equally distribute the prepared vegetables for lunch, as they are trying to conserve food to last the week.

When Axel and some male housemates are about to open bags of chips, Michele Gumabao suggests they save it for dinner or for when they are hungry, which Alex agrees with.

However, Alex, who admittedly did not enjoy her lunch, then asks other housemates to eat the chips with her, just when Axel finishes his plate and leaves the dining area.

Offended, Axel vents his anger at other housemates.

After learning of Axel's gripe from Fifth Solomon, Alex tells "Kuya" of her plan to clarify the situation with the 19-year-old student. Alex almost cries in the confession room when she admits that she is bothered by having a tiff with anyone.

When Alex approaches Axel, the latter admits that he was hurt when Alex appeared to get what she wanted when he was told off for planning to have the same. Axel later cries when he admits that he might have overreacted.

A guilty Alex says sorry repeatedly to Axel and is forgiven. In the confession room, however, Alex airs her concern that her relationship with Axel might now be strained, despite him saying all is fine and also apologizing.

'Mang Juan' trends worldwide

As the scenes aired on Tuesday night, the episode's official hashtag -- aptly named "#PBBTampuhanBlues" -- became the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter both in the Philippines and worldwide.

"Mang Juan," the name of the bag of chips Axel wanted to open, also became a trending topic on the micro-blogging site, with netizens joking that the episode's drama all stemmed from the housemates' craving for the "merienda" favorite.

"Pinoy Big Brother: All In" airs weeknights on Primetime Bida, and on Saturdays and Sundays as part of ABS-CBN's Yes! Weekend line-up. Afternoon updates are also aired via "Uber" on weekdays.
