Lino Cayetano back to directing via 'Boystown'
Film and television director Lino Cayetano is excited with his comeback project with ABS-CBN. He has started shooting again for the latest Kapamilya TV show "Boystown" after a long break in United States.
In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Cayetano said it's really nice to work with young blood of stars like the “Gigger Boys (Greatness In GOD Gets Everyone Rock Because Our Yaweh Saves)” of ASAP.
"Masarap, masaya. Masaya ako na ang ibinigay sa aking project is 'Boystown' and 'yong experiences working with Gigger Boys, nangangalahati na kami sa trabaho namin sa Boystown and everyday. It's a good experience working with them," the director said.
Cayetano said he is blessed that Gigger Boys -- Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, AJ Perez, Chris Gutierrez, Aaron Villaflor, Dino Imperial and Sam Concepcion -- are all talented and eager to learn more as actors.
"Itong seven na ito ay matatalino sila. They are all talented. So for me its really inspiring working with them,” he said.
Cayetano, who went to New York to study directing for almost a year, said that he started preparing for the series as early as February.
Cayetano also cleared speculations that "Boystown" tells the story of delinquent juveniles.
The director also explained that the "Boystown," specifically in Marikina City, where they are shooting the series, was put up to help people understand young people, who were abandoned by their parents or rescued from the streets.
"Boystown is not a prison.”
To catch the Giggger Boys in a different light, watch "Your Song Presents: Boystown" this coming May 10, Sunday after ASAP ''09.
