Willie Revillame keeps mum as online outrage grows
MANILA, Philippines - Three days after giving an ultimatum to his ABS-CBN bosses, popular TV host Willie Revillame has remained mum even as online critics asked for his resignation from the top-rated noontime show "Wowowee."
Revillame, considered one of the highest-paid entertainers in local showbiz, was a no-show during Friday's episode of "Wowowee" after taking an indefinite leave from the program since Wednesday.
His absence, however, did not go unnoticed by his die-hard fans who asked ABS-CBN management to bring the popular host back.
"Si Willlie kasi alam niya kung kailan dapat ibigay ang pera," said one elderly fan.
The appeal has also been supported by the "Pro-Willie Movement" group on Facebook, which has 2,000 members.
On the other hand, the Anti-Willie Revillame Movement group on Facebook has been flooded with negative comments about Revillame's behavior. The group has 33,000 members.
Revillame has been on the receiving end of negative comments on microblogging site Twitter since Tuesday, while an online signature campaign has been launched to remove him from the show.
Last Tuesday Revillame threatened to resign from "Wowowee" after engaging in a word war with "The Buzz" co-host and radio dzMM anchor Jobert Sucaldito.
Sucaldito caught the ire of Revillame after Sucaldito allegedly questioned why “Wowowee” invited school students with general averages of 75 to 79 to the show. This prompted Revillame to challenge ABS-CBN management to fire Sucaldito or else he would resign from his own show.
"Nanawagan ako sa management ng ABS-CBN, huwag ninyo namang payagan na tinitira ang show. Ang laki ng kita ng 'Wowowee' para sa ABS. Mamili na kayo. Kapag hindi ninyo 'yan tinanggal ako ang magre-resign dito sa 'Wowowee.' Tandaan ninyo yan," he said earlier this week.
For his part, Sucaldito said he is not afraid of Revillame since he believes he did the right thing.
“Nalulungkot lang ako na for petty issue ay aabot sa ganito. Kumbaga it's not fair. Maliit lang na tao. Kumbaga sa chess game, isa lang akong pawn, isa siyang king. Ano ba ang laban ko? Pero tuloy ang buhay. God is with me and I'm overwhelmed by the appreciation of the world," Sucaldito said.
Sucaldito denied ever referring to the "Wowowee" contestants as stupid, adding that he just wanted "Wowowee" to invite intelligent students to the show.
"Ako naman, I also stand by my story. I didn't hit him on personal level. I didn't like the concept. 'Yong concept lang ang aking tinitingnan. Kung na-misinform siya, it's not my problem. Ganoon lang naman ang buhay," he said.

I'm one of willie's fans... I adore him, he's a good person at always true... But there are a lot of people who thinks he is arrogant and boastful which I believe is arguably correct when he challenge the management... Good luck willie...

I am one of the people who are in favor of ousting Willie Revillame from the show but I am positive that I am not a damn stupid person like you say all anti-Willie people are. Judging from your language and naive perspective on the issue, I am confident that I am far more educated than you are. (Sorry ... you started this). Search for my comments on this issue and see the disparity between your perspective and mine.
In a site like this, you will find that there are people who will oppose your views. Learn to respect that and DO NOT resort to name calling. And PLEASE do not defend yourself by telling me its your right to call people names. You are in the wrong place buddy. I may not share any of your opinions but my good breeding and manners dictate that I should not express what I think of you. All I can say is that I have a good idea as to why you idolize Mr. Revillame. The two of you have a lot in commom.

Im a big fan of wowowee before but because of willie revillames attitude i would rather watch eat bulaga kasi me reaspeto sila sa co worker nila. Manonood ka ng wowowee makita mo aman kagaspangan ng ugali ni willie kahit sa mga ktrabaho nya.. di xa professional palitan nyo na sayang kasi ag wowowee.. idol ko xa dati pero di na ngayon

Kunwari lang yang si Willie na magreresign! Eh paano kung walang tumanggap dyan na ibang TV stations? Eh ano nga ba ang pinagmamalaki nyang talent, ang magbigay ng pera sa mga audience? Pag nawalan sya ng trabaho at naubos na yung pera nya di mabebenta nya lahat ang mga properties nya at mauubos di yun?
Eh paano na sya? Kahit janitor walang tatanggap dyan dahil isa sa mga requirements sa janitor eh at least high school graduate.
Magmamakaawa na naman yan sa ABS-CBN na tanggapin ulit sya sigurado yan!

Lumagpas na sa ulo ni Willie ang kasikatan kaya hindi na marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan. Nung nasipa sya sa ABS-CBN noon, para syang basang sisiw na nagmamakaawa para magkatrabaho uli. Ngayon, porke sikat na sya tumindi naman ang yabang. Dapat yan binibigyan ng leksyon ng ABS-CBN para mawalan ng trabaho. Tingnan natin kung matatapos pa yung Willie's Tower, baka gawin na lang yun ng bagsakan ng gulay.
Pwede namang ipalit si Vhong Navarro dyan sa wowowee. Mas kwela pa nga si Vhong kaysa kay Willie at mas maabilidad kesa kay Willie sa Tutoo lang. Basta tuloy rin ang mga prizes at pagbibigay ng pera sa mga participants, siguradong hindi magbabago ang kasikatan ng Wowowee, at baka lalong gumanda pa kamo ang rating. Dahil natural kung magpatawa si Vhong Navarro at hindi offensive na tulad ni Willie.
Pero siguradong hindi magreresign si Willie, yabang nya lang yan! Wala namang naniniwala sa kanya na magreresign sya dahil alam ng tao na sobra lang ang yabang sa katawan ni Willie

Nananawagan ako sa mga pinoy. Kung ayaw niyo na lumaki pa lalo ang ulo nitong Wil na ito at ayaw ninyong gayahin siya ng mga kabataan natin. Sabihin natin sa ABS na sila ang iboboycott natin pati ang advertisers nila kapag di tinanggal itong Wil na ito. Tayo ang tunay na may lakas, tayo ang nagpapasok ng napakalaking pera sa ABS tulad ng sabi niyang si Wil. Suportahan ang cast ng Wowowee at ang bagong host kapag pinaltan na! Mabuhay ka pinoy! You deserve the best not the WORST!
