Jaclyn Jose denies beating Andi
MANILA, Philippines – Veteran actress Jaclyn Jose denied that she is an alcoholic and that she beats her daughter Andi Eigenmann whenever she's drunk.
The allegations were made by the actor Albie Casiño's mother Rina.
In a statement sent to ABS-CBN News, Jose said she never laid a finger on Eigenmann, not even when she learned her daughter was pregnant.
“Alam ng industry ang record ko how professional I am and hindi kailanman binugbog ang anak ko. Noong nabuntis nga ni pitik hindi ko nagawa,” she said.
Jose emphasized she did not raise her children to be liars.
‘Pinalaki ko ang mga anak ko ng walang palo at mahusay na pikikipagusap lang. At lalong hindi ko pinakalaking sinungaling ang mga anak ko,” she said.
Jose also said she is known in the profession for her work ethic.
"I am not an alcoholic. I've been working in this business for a long time. Kung alcoholic ako, wala sana akong trabaho,” she said.
Eigenmann, meanwhile, said she was not lying when she revealed that Casiño physically abused her when they were still together.
She also urged the Casiños to tell the truth instead of fabricating stories.
“Hindi ko naman gusto na ipagsigawan sa buong mundo 'yun eh. I just wanted to get a chance to be heard for once,” she said.
“I know how much these people believe in God. If they believe in God as their Lord as their Savior, they know it’s going to be the right thing to just tell the truth,” Eigenmann added. – With ANC
