Pinoy international singing sensation now 17
The now 17-year-old Charice, popularly called the international singing sensation, began singing when she was only four years old. At the age of seven, she started joining various singing contests.
Her big break came when she made it to ABS-CBN’s singing contest “Little Big Star.” Although she only finished third, many people had noticed her talent through the competition.
Videos of her performances on Little Big Star were uploaded on video-sharing Web site YouTube. Her performances drew accolades from millions of people all over the world.
Popular shows from other countries such as Sweden, South Korea, Italy and United States had invited her to make a guest appearance. And every time, she wowed her audience.
She guested on popular talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “Oprah Winfrey Show,” among others, and performed alongside big personalities. She also sang in a pre-inauguration event for US President Barack Obama and in a post-Oscar party.
Now, Charice is being trained by legendary music producer American David Foster. She is set to launch her first international album. In the local scene, she recently released her second album under Star Records.
