TV5 asks CA to halt Tulfo program suspension
MANILA, Philippines - TV5 has filed with the Court of Appeals (CA) a petition seeking to prevent the Movie Television Classification and Review Board (MTRCB) from enforcing a 20-day suspension order on the network's program 'T3' hosted by Tulfo brothers Erwin, Ben and Raffy.
The petition was filed by TV5 lawyer Benjamin Tolosa, Jr. before lunch time.
The petition sought the nullification of the MTRCB order for "being unconstitutional and for having been issued without jurisdiction or with grave abuse of discretion amounting to lack of or excess of jurisdiction."
TV5 asked for the immediate issuance of a temporary restraining order (TRO) and/or writ of preliminary injunction against the MTRCB order. The network also urged the appellate court to prohibit the MTRCB from further hearing the administrative case against T3 pending before the board.
The assailed order stemmed from the brothers' on-air remarks on Monday against celebrity couple Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barreto after both figured in a brawl with the 3 hosts' eldest brother, Mon.
