Singer Geneva Cruz still kept silent on the issue that she and husband KC Montero have already parted ways.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Cruz refused to give any details on the current status of her relationship with Montero who is now based in United States. "I'm not gonna talk about my love life. I think that I have the right not to really give full details on what is going on," she said.

Cruz had reacted to reports alleging that she is now in the country without her husband in tow because their relationship is on the rocks.

The singer who is known for her hits "Anak ng Pasig" and "Kailan," said that what is important to her is that she loves her husband, son, and their family.

"(In my previous interviews I did not give details about it and) I would like to tend to keep it  that way. And I love KC, I love Heaven, I love my family and that's all I'm answering about. I love myself too," Cruz said.

She added, "I've always been very happy with my life. There's a difference [between] happiness and being joyful. I'm happy. I don't know why people keep on saying that I'm not happy. Everything makes me happy.  I see beautiful things. Kanya-kanya lang tayo ng paniniwala."

Cruz, 33, has a son named Heaven, 13, from her first marriage with musician Paco Arespacochaga.

Keeping happy

The singer said she cannot do anything for people who choose to believe that she and Montero already ended their marriage. She also said that she tries not to mind the negative things that people say about her and husband KC. The singer said that instead of pleasing people, she will focus on things that make her happy.

"Napakadali to give other people advice but minsan, sa sarili mo, hindi mo alam ang gagawin mo. I choose not to focus on what other people think about me anymore. I cannot please everybody and if I try to please everybody, I will end up nobody," Cruz said.

Cruz also cleared speculations that her decision to pose naked in Maxim's May issue stemmed from emotional problems. She explained that she posed naked in the May issue of a men’s magazine to raise public awareness on animal and environmental protection.

"This has nothing to do with my love life. This has something to do with my passion as a woman. Kapag nabasa nila ang article na ito, I said so many things na pinaniniwalaan ko and I choose not to lie anymore to people. But it's my right also not to give fulls details about what's going on with my love life because walang kinalaman ito sa music. Slightly siguro mayroon, because I was able to write songs. All I can say is that I'm the type of woman who is not a quitter. Hindi ako 'yong tipong magki-quit agad," Cruz said.

Jungle fever

Cruz, a self-confessed vegetarian, said she agreed to pose sexy for Maxim Philippines after the staff of the magazine accepted her condition--for the shoot to reflect her beliefs.

A nude Cruz posed at the Ninoy Aquino National Parks and Wildlife Center in Quezon City, with leaves covering her private parts.

The former member of the legendary group “Smokey Mountain” added that she was the one who came up with the “sexy jungle” theme to show her environmentalist side. Cruz, a member of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), decided to become a vegetarian after doing a shampoo commercial in Palawan. She said she was only 15 years old then.

"We were in this location in Palawan where all the animals were just roaming free! All I had to do was feed one of them and say, 'Natural!' We kept doing that, take after take,” she told Maxim.
