Bimby to do 'Praybeyt Benjamin' sequel with Vice
MANILA -- After making his movie debut in the blockbuster film "My Little Bossings," James "Bimby" Yap Jr. will again be joining the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) but this time with comedian Vice Ganda.
In an interview on Sunday, Yap's mother Kris Aquino confirmed that the 7-year-old boy will be part of the sequel to Vice Ganda's "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin" for director Wenn V. Deramas.
"So exciting ang festival na ito dahil sabi ko nga kay Vice, lagot kapag nagsho-shooting kayo, nagbabantay ako. So siyempre I'm excited," said Aquino, who considers the comedian among her closest friends in showbiz.
According to Aquino, it was Bimby's decision to do a movie with the "It's Showtime" host.
"Tinanong ko si Bimby, sinabi ko, 'Honey, it's your choice, do you want to do the movie?' At ang sinabi ni Bimb nung nalaman niya na sundalo si Praybeyt Benjamin at soldier ...pumayag siya and because si Tito Vice naman 'yon," Aquino explained, adding that her son's only condition is for him to have action scenes.
"Sinabi ko you bettter be at your best kasi wala ako diyan at ito ikaw ito talaga and you are not just playing yourself. And sinabi niya as long as mayroon siyang action scenes," she said.
"And, of course, buong buo ang tiwala ko kay Vice na aalagaan niya ang anak ko and, of course, kay Direk Wenn. So excited na ako for this festival," she said.
For this year's MMFF, Aquino will be competing with her son and good friend since she will be doing the sequel of her hit 2004 horror film "Feng Shui" with actor Coco Martin also for the annual Christmas film fest.
