Controversial sexy actress Katrina Halili on Wednesday said cosmetic surgeon Dr. Hayden Kho should not go unpunished for allegedly videotaping their sexual intercourse.

“Gusto kong lumaban kasi ayoko ng maulit ang mga ganitong pangyayari kasi sobrang binaboy kami d’on sa video. Sobrang pambababoy ang ginawa sa amin ni [doctor] Hayden kaya dapat magbayad siya," Halili said.

Aside from Kho-Halili sex scandal, the doctor also allegedly victimized two other women. These sex videos are also circulating on the Internet.

Halili said those who are responsible for uploading the sex videos should also be held liable.

“Para hindi na gawin ng ibang mga lalaki sa amin at sa ibang babae kagaya ko. Para wala ng mabiktima, para matakot sila. Gusto ko lang matuto ‘yong ibang tao kahit ako na ang nakakahiya,” she said. 

She added: “Basta ako ngayon [gusto kong] ma-solve itong kaso na ito…at [sa] mga babae mag-ingat at huwag mag-tiwala kung kani-kanino para wala ng ma-biktima.”

Halili already sought the help of Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. who slammed Kho during his privilege speech Tuesday. The actress, accompanied by her two lawyers, was mobbed by employees and journalists when she showed up in the Senate.

The actress, who admitted her brief romantic affair with Kho, wept as journalists tried to get her statement.

“Sobrang nagpapasalamat ako na nandiyan po siya (Revilla)," Halili said. “Basta ako hindi ako uurong. Dapat magbayad ‘yong mga taong gumawa nito pati mga taong nagkalat ng video kasi napakawalang hiya nila. Hindi ko sila uurungan. Lalaban ako sa kanila.”

Revilla, on the other hand, said he will continue to go after those who are accountable.

“May mga tumatawag sa atin na huwag na tayong makialam dito, sa kaso na ito. Inumpisahan natin ‘to, tapusin na natin. At kung ano man ‘yong ginawa ko, paninindigan ko ito at ipapakulong ko kung sino man ang dapat managot dito,” the senator said.

The issue has already been referred to the committee on youth, women and family relations chaired by Sen. Maria Ana Consuelo Madrigal and committee on public information and mass media chaired by Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.

From the Senate, both the actress and Revilla proceeded to the National Bureau of Investigation office. In a closed-door meeting, the two discussed the incident with NBI Director Nestor Mantaring.

Aside from Kho, Mantaring said the NBI might also summon cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vicki Belo, Kho’s former girlfriend.

“Kung meron siyang kinalaman, then we will invite her,” Mantaring said. 

Both Kho and Belo declined to give any comment.  Reports said Kho was forced to cancel his 29th birthday celebration on Friday due to the scandal. Belo, on the other hand, will reportedly fly to Europe.

Alarming

In the wake of the spreading sex videos on the Internet, left-leaning women’s group Gabriela, meanwhile, raised an alarm over the use of technology to abuse women. 

Emmi De Jesus, Gabriela’s secretary general, said Halili’s case is not an isolated one. De Jesus noted that the group had received a high number of reports wherein sexual intercourse was being videotaped and spread through mass media.

“In some cases, the woman-victim knows that the sexual act is being video taped. But it is important to note that the sexual act was private and done in the context of a relationship, thus, the spreading of the tape is a grave violation of the woman’s right," she said.

De Jesus pointed out that a woman acquiesces with the videotaping of the act because she trusts the man. She said the spreading of the tape is a betrayal of that trust.

“It is a criminal act and perpetrators should be punished, instead of laying the blame on the victim,” she said.

De Jesus also cited an increasingly number of cases of rapists recording their acts of abusing women on video. The group stressed that the use of technology to abuse women has profound effect on the victims. 

She added that overcoming the ordeal is difficult since the abuse is virtually repeated over and over.

She said the group believes and supports Halili’s fight. “We commend her courage and guarantee our support as we did to other victims of violence against women."
