MANILA, Philippines – Singer-actress Vina Morales on Monday admitted that she is nervous about her stage debut next month as the female lead in a local version of the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical "Rock of Ages."

In an interview on “Mornings@ANC,” Morales said she has mixed emotions after being tapped to play a stripper in the musical to be mounted by Atlantis Productions.
"There is no 'take two.' We are all nervous because if you are doing soap or movie, you can have so many takes as long as you perfect the scene, then that's it. But with theater you can't. You have to continue and be focused,” she said.
Morales said musical theater is also very different from doing a concert.
“In concerts, you can adlib, I can do adlibs of my dances, songs. With theater you have to do everything in detail because you have other actors working with you,” she said.
Morales, however, promised to give her all in her stage debut, saying they are now rehearsing daily with one month to go before opening night.
"Rock of Ages" will open on June 15 with Fil-American Broadway actor MiG Ayesa, Nyoy Volante and Calvin Millado.
