Actor Johnny Delgado is very much on the road to recovery after undergoing a series of chemotherapy sessions for Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, according to his wife, actress Laurice Guillen.

“Totoo. Ang tanong nga niya sa akin ay, ‘kaya ko na kaya?’ Kaaalis lang niya ng bahay para mag-taping no’ng ano ba ‘yon, ‘May Bukas Pa.’,” Guillen told abs-cbnNEWS.com at the launch of the 5th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.

Delgado was recently confined at the St. Luke’s Medical Center but was discharged immediately after the chemo treatments.

“Ang nakapagtataka, siya ang nagpapa-chemo na hindi pumayat. Ang lusog-lusog niya kahit hanggang ngayon,” Laurice volunteered.

“Hindi rin siya nawalan ng gana sa pagkain. The doctor advised him to do things his regular ways like tapings and shootings,” the lady director added.

According to Laurice, Johnny was repeatedly asking her if he could still carry on until the end of the taping. “I told him to just take it easy. Kaya n’ya ‘yon, sabi ko. Kasi, ang medical advise naman siya at kita ko, kaya niya na,” said Guillen.

All members of her household, Laurice said, are very active in their line of work.

Daughter Ina Feleo is involved in a Cinemalaya entry this year as an actress. She is featured in director Milo Sogueco’s film “Sanglaan” where she plays a timid, vulnerable girl hopelessly in love with a high school crush.

Ana Feleo, the elder daughter of Laurice and Johnny, is busy rehearsing for a concert abroad. “Kaya walang tao sa bahay ngayon,” Laurice chuckled.
