Editha, who hails from Bataan, said her family hopes to visit her homeland for Jessica to learn more about the Filipino people and its culture.
"Yes, yes, most definitely," she said of Jessica's planned visit to the country. "She's been asking about that, and hopefully we will soon so she can learn about the Filipinos, the country."
Jessica, who finished second to singer Phillip Phillips in the popular singing contest, is "thrilled" for the eleventh "Idol" winner, Editha told ABS-CBN News.
"It didn't really matter to Jessica whether she won or came in second. She was just happy with what she's done, which is get to top two, and that was more than she can ask for. I was just so happy for her," Editha said.
"She's really, really positive. She's just thrilled and happy for Phillip, and I am happy for Phillip, he deserves it," she added.
Phillips, after a record-breaking 132 million votes were tallied, was named "American Idol," becoming the fifth consecutive -- as social networking sites put it -- "WGWG" or "white man with a guitar" winner on the show.
