At least 1,000 people, mostly Filipinos, trooped to Las Vegas, Nevada over the weekend to watch Sharon Cuneta’s mega concert, the first in her series of shows in the United States.

Filipino fans from other states traveled to Las Vegas to catch a glimpse of the megastar as she performed live at Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.

"It is also wonderful performing... when I asked who came from California, may nag-taas ng kamay... tapos nagulat ako... may Hawaii, may Alaska, may Chicago, may California... I'm doing an LA show, parang they (fans) couldn't wait... it was so touching," Cuneta said.

Hotel executives were also amazed that more than a thousand people came to watch the concert. They said Cuneta’s show was a certified “crowd-drawer.”

Cuneta’s eldest daughter, KC Concepcion, was also part of the concert as a special guest. The singer's husband, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, two daughters and her cousin, singer Ciara Sotto, also came to show their support.

For four years, the US-based “Sharonians” yearned for their idol to stage a concert there. The success of her latest show only proved that she remains popular among many Filipinos. Bev Llorente, ABS-CBN North America News Bureau
