Willie Revillame takes 'indefinite break' from 'Wowowee'
MANILA, Philippines – "Wowowee" host Willie Revillame is taking an “indefinite break” from his popular noontime show, but his contract obligations with ABS-CBN remain, the network announced on Tuesday.
“ABS-CBN and Willie agreed that he takes an indefinite break effective immediately, but his contract obligations with ABS-CBN hold. This disallows him to perform similar work for any person or entity in direct competition with ABS-CBN,” said Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications.
“Willie has realized his mistake and apologized to ABS-CBN management for his outburst on air in Wowowee on May 4, 2010, and his failure to report to work since May 5, 2010. ABS-CBN management has accepted Willie’s apology,” the network said.
“At some point, ABS-CBN management and Willie will discuss what will be in the best interest of the viewing public. Meanwhile, Wowowee will continue to provide entertainment and inspiration to Filipinos worldwide,” Osorio added.
Both parties held a meeting Monday after Revillame asked the bosses of the Kapamilya network to release him from his contract in his letter dated May 12.
Revillame wrote ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio Lopez III and president Charo Santos-Concio a letter in light of the controversy involving him and entertainment journalist Jobert Sucaldito. A copy of the letter dated May 12 was leaked to the media.
Revillame had slammed Sucaldito for the latter’s alleged non-stop criticisms. Revillame, in particular, got irked after Sucaldito allegedly insulted the contestants of “Wowowee." The contestants were reportedly high school students with general averages of 75 and 79.
Sucaldito has repeatedly denied that he insulted the “Wowowee” contestants.
Revillame demanded that the network fire Sucaldito. If not, Revillame threatened to leave the network. The “Wowowee” host then went on indefinite leave.

ABS CBN please dont waste your time on this one person! Sibakin nyo na iyan! Ano ang mawawala sa inyo kung sisibakin nyo si Willie? Mawawalan kayo ng bastos, hambog, abusado, mayabang, mahilig mang-chancing, pintasero, manlalait at kung ano ano pang nakakabuwisit na ugali na host na ngayon eh kinasusuklaman na worldwide. Willie kung may natitira ka pang hiya, LUMAYAS KA NANG KUSA! Nakakasuka ka na!

With or without Revillame - Wowowee will go on and shall remain a noontime show. Huwag ninyong sabihin na si revillame ang nagdadala sa ABS-CBN? Palitan na ninyo at kalimutan ang taong ito. Antipatiko ang dating niya sa mga nakakaintindi. Sana ay magising na ang ABS-CBN. It is clean-up time. Get rid of all the undesirables. The show must go on. Kick Revillame out for good.

My take on all of this? I do not care about swell-head Willie or that Jobert Sucaldito rumor monger, but, usually a company pain in the a** should be kicked out, because they'll do more harm that good to the company in the long run. ABS-CBN, your choice. It's never too late to fire any of them.
