MANILA - The ABS-CBN daytime series "Be Careful with My Heart" continues to be a hit among Malaysians, as it consistently scores strong ratings in the country.

According to entertainment group Media Prima, the series currently enjoys an average of 1.6 million daily viewers in Malaysia.

"Be Careful With My Heart," which airs in Malaysia via TV3, tells the story of Maya (Jodi Sta. Maria), a nanny who falls in love with her employer, Richard (Richard Yap).

In an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com, Saad Mahsah, a product development manager for Selangor Tourism in Malaysia, said the drama makes him feel closer to Filipinos.

"For me, it's very good because we can watch a different story. We can see Filipino traditions through TV. You can also learn new words and see similarities (in our cultures).... It makes Manila much closer to Kuala Lumpur," he said.

In the Philippines, "Be Careful With My Heart" remains the No. 1 daytime show on its 22nd month on air, according to Kantar Media. It averaged a national audience share of 17.8% for the month of April, ranking among the 15 most watched programs in the country.

Aside from "Be Careful with My Heart," TV3 is also airing the Kim Chiu-starrer "My Girl," which was ABS-CBN's adaptation of the South Korean series of the same name.

A recent hit among Malaysians was ABS-CBN's 2010 remake of "Mara Clara, which averaged 1.5 million viewers throughout its run.

Other Kapamilya shows that were previously aired in Malaysia were "Dahil May Isang Ikaw," "Budoy," and the highly successful "Pangako Sa'yo," starring Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa.

"Prinsesa ng Banyera," "Impostor," "Imortal," and "Iisa Pa Lamang," were also shown in the country.
