(UPDATE) Katrina Halili: I felt betrayed
An emotional actress Katrina Halili on Thursday said she felt betrayed after learning that the man she loved took a video of their sexual intercourse.
In her opening statement before the Senate committee investigating the sex scandal involving her and former lover Dr. Hayden Kho, the young actress reiterated that the sex video was done without her knowledge and consent.
She said Kho made her believe that he loved her, too. The actress admitted that she was easily swayed by Kho because she was still young at that time.
Madali niya akong napaniwala,” she said.
She also slammed Kho and his mother, Irene, for accusing her of influencing the cosmetic surgeon to take illegal drugs. Halili denied ever using illegal drugs.
She lamented that she would forever be a victim in this sex scandal.
The actress reiterated her call for the revocation of Kho’s license. She also said she wants the cosmetic surgeon to be put behind bars for what he did.
She also pressed the Senate to pass a stronger law that will protect women against sex videos.
Both Halili and Kho attended Thursday’s Senate investigation on the sex scandal. During the hearing, Kho admitted that Halili was unaware that he was videotaping their sexual intercourse.
When asked how she felt to see Kho, the actress said: “Galit po.”
She lost projects and endorsements after the sex scandal broke out, Halili lamented.
Halili also broke down as she confronted the cosmetic surgeon.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development said the agency can provide psychosocial counseling to Halili “so that she can overcome the trauma and the pain she has right now."
