PhilPop 2014's Top 12 finalists revealed

MANILA - The PhilPop MusicFest Foundation on Thursday revealed the 12 finalists of PhilPop 2014.

Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, the foundation's executive director, said that "this year's finalists constitute a heady brew of the most varied genres: dance, rock, R&B, a couple of ballads, some pop and a genre-defying song in multi-meter."

He also shared his excitement to hear established singers and new artists interpret the songs.

"I'm very excited because this batch of songs are again as exciting as different, very, very different. Iba't ibang tunog na naman ang lumabas," Cayabyab said.

Below are the Top 12 songs in this year's PhilPop:

1. "Awit Mo'y Nandito Pa"

The grand winner of this year's competition will get the P1-million grand prize.

The finals of PhilPop 2014 will be held at Meralco Theater on July 26.
