'Survivor' contestant dies in Caramoan
A Bulgarian national competing in hit reality show "Survivor" died after suffering from cardiac arrest in Caramoan, Camarines Sur, police said Sunday.
Police identified the victim as Moncho Vodnicharov, 53. They said the incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. Saturday at the famous Gotta Beach Resort.
"After performing an activity as part of the contest, [Vodnicharov] suffered cardiac arrest that resulted in his instant death," said Inspector Ayn Natuel.
The cause of death was confirmed by Filipino doctor Geniveive Go and Bulgarian physician Nicolay Niekov who were present in the set. The doctors said it was possible that the victim was not able to endure the still undisclosed challenge.
Vodnicharov's remains are set to be airlifted to Manila, according to Natuel.
According to Wikipedia, "Survivor" contestants are isolated in a remote location where they compete against each other for $1 million prize and title of Sole Survivor.
