Controversial young actor Baron Geisler has a drinking problem, his former girlfriend confirmed Monday.

"I won't lie. He really had a drinking problem. And there were times na when we go out I'd be the one to stop him from doing something crazy," Dionne Monsanto, former Pinoy Big Brother housemate, told abs-cbnNEWS.com.

She said Geisler’s alleged drinking issue had forced her to end their relationship in 2008.

Geisler had been accused of being an alcoholic but he denied the allegation. Also, the daughter of celebrity couple William Martinez and Yayo Aguila and, recently, young actress Yasmien Kurdi had filed separate charges of acts of lasciviousness and unjust vexation against the actor.

Monsanto had previously defended the award-winning actor from his critics but now the former reality show contestant admitted that he needs help.

"He needs kasi someone, either a friend or girlfriend, who would really help him. I hope someone is doing that for him now kasi it's really not nice if he would continue doing that," she said.

She added: "I feel very sad and kinda [disappointed] kasi I thought he was getting better. I thought he was making progress."

Currently, Monsanto is dating Alex Anselmuccio, a former Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus housemate.
