MANILA - Actor Cesar Montano has been named presidential envoy for film and digital cinema Wednesday.

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said the newly created position was given to “The Singing Bee” host because of his expertise in the film industry.

The award-winning actor appeared on several well-acclaimed films including José Rizal, Muro Ami, Bagong Buwan, Panaghoy sa Suba and Hollywood’s The Great Raid.

In 2007, Montano ran for senator under the administration’s TEAM Unity. He, however, lost in the mid-term elections.  Radio dzMM
