MANILA - A weekly task on "Pinoy Big Brother" took an emotional turn in the reality show's episode that aired Thursday when four housemates were challenged to pose nude for a painting.

For the week, the housemates are given three opportunities to say "No" to a challenge. Each time a housemate declines a challenge, one of the lit "No" signs in the living room is turned off. Running out of "No's" will mean failing the weekly task, and having no extra budget for the succeeding week.

The housemates have various challenges.

For instance, Vickie Rushton, Jane Oineza, and Loisa Andalio -- all girls with fair complexion -- gamely agreed to undergo three tanning sessions.

Nichole Baranda, on the other hand, was challenged to eat fried silkworm. The 15-year-old was the first to press the "No" button, which set off a buzzer to announce to other housemates that she declined the challenge.

Jayme Jalandoni, a professional nurse who was introduced early in the series as a devoted Christian, was initially in disbelief when Big Brother informed her that her challenge was to become a model for a nude painting.

"Kuya" told Jayme that the artist and his advocacy for education would benefit from her modeling, if she agrees.

'For art, not for lust'

Given the nature of the challenge, Big Brother allowed Jayme to think things through. Jayme, as seen in the episode, consulted her Bible and later fellow housemate Michele Gumabao, who is also a Christian, when she "couldn't find the answer."

After speaking with Michele and Daniel Matsunaga, who is a professional model, Jayme told "Kuya" that she will do the challenge. She explained that the nude painting is done for art, not for lust or with malice in mind.

The challenge proved more difficult for Jayme when Big Brother revealed that she will have to be accompanied by three other housemates as nude models.

After covertly getting their thoughts on posing nude, Jayme picked Michele, Daniel, and Ranty Fortento, a seaman who is also the oldest housemate at 26.

Michele, who has had her share of modeling after a successful collegiate volleyball career, turned emotional and admitted to having apprehensions about going nude for a painting.

However, the four agreed that they trust "Kuya" and expressed confidence that he will not put them in a harmful situation.

'Honor your mother and father'

Now set on doing the challenge, Jayme was called into the confession room by Big Brother to let her hear the opinion of her father, who said in a recorded message that she shouldn't have to think twice about saying no.

An emotional Jayme said that while she had made up her mind about doing the challenge, it would go against her beliefs to disobey her parents, citing one of the Ten Commandments in Christian faith -- "Honor your father and mother."

Jayme, Michele, Daniel, and Ranty were then called back to the challenge hall where Big Brother asked for Jayme's final decision.

Trust vs principles

All four housemates were then asked for the last time by "Kuya" on their individual decisions. Each of them said "No," with Jayme pressing the button and setting of the buzzer heard throughout the house.

It remains to be seen whether any of the housemates will use up the last remaining "No" for the duration of the weekly task.

"Pinoy Big Brother: All In" airs weeknights on Primetime Bida, and on Saturdays and Sundays as part of ABS-CBN's Yes! Weekend line-up. Afternoon updates are also aired via "Uber" on weekdays.
