Chiz avoids questions about his marriage
MANILA, Philippines – Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero has continuously evaded questions regarding the status of his marriage to Christine Elizabeth Flores.
It was no different when he guested on Alvin Elchico and Lynda Jumilla’s radio show "S.R.O. (Suhestiyon, Reaksyon, Opinyon)" on radio dzMM on Tuesday night.
During the program, Escudero briefly discussed his plans in the coming months as well as his plan to run for re-election in 2013.
While the Senate is on recess, Escudero said he will go home to his province on Friday. He will be back in Manila in time for President Benigno Aquino III’s State of the Nation Address on July 25.
Veering away from the topic of politics, Elchico asked Escudero: “May nagpapatibok ba ng puso mo ngayon?”
Escudero answered: “Meron, ‘yong dalawang anak ko.”
Conspicuously, the lawmaker did not mention his wife of 11 years.
In May of this year, reports surfaced that the senator and Flores have already separated. Even before the reports came out, however, rumors about their separation had circulated 2 years ago.
Up until today, the 2 are keeping quiet on the issue.
In 1995, Chiz met Flores at Sulo Hotel where his wife was working as a singer. They got married in Pasay City four years later.
