MANILA, Philippines – Actor John Estrada feels blessed with a new TV project in the works, and a loving family that continues to support him.

Estrada, who turned 38 on Wednesday, celebrated his birthday in the company of his wife, beauty queen Priscilla Meirelles, their four-month old daughter Anechka, and his four children with actress-host Janice de Belen.

"I'm so blessed with a beautiful and loving wife, and our baby Anikka is four months old. Oh my God, sabi ko nga hindi muna sana ako kunin ni Lord dahil ine-enjoy ko 'to," Estrada said in an interview on Thursday.

"As you can see, my kids are here also from my first marriage. They're here, they're supporting me, at masaya ako talaga nandito sila lahat -- mga taong mahal ko at mga taong mahal ako," he added.

While he attends to his youngest daughter and will be busy filming for his upcoming new series, Estrada said he continues to spend time with his children with de Belen.

"With my four kids with Janice, I don't have a problem there. Anytime when they're free, whenever they're free, anytime 'yun. Sabi ko naman sa kanila, kahit 30 minutes lang, basta quality time, let's have dinner, let's talk about school or whatever," Estrada said.

The former noontime show host also shared his children have become fond of their youngest sister Anechka: "My kids love babies, ano pa kaya 'yung kapatid nila."

'Against All Odds'

Aside from his loving family, Estrada feels blessed as he takes on another role in upcoming primetime soap "Against All Odds.”

"Sobra kaming excited dito. Para sa 'kin first time kong makakasama ang young superstar natin, si Judy Ann Santos," Estrada said about the series, which also stars Sam Milby, KC Concepcion, Mylene Dizon, Jessy Mendiola, Joseph Marco, Bryan Termulo, Susan Africa, Tirso Cruz III, and Coney Reyes.

His role in the new series, he said, will surprise TV viewers, as the casting will be unconventional by soap opera standards.

"Hindi ako kontrabida. Kasi kung makikita niyo 'yung lineup, kung kayo ay followers ng teleseryes, mabibigla kayo dito dahil hindi niyo iisipin na ganito 'yung characters namin," he said.

Meanwhile, Estrada is set to take on another role closer to real life in upcoming series "Lorenzo's Time." He will play the father of the titular character portrayed by young actor Zaijan Jaranilla.

"Lorenzo's Time" is set for a July release, according to Estrada.
