Wellness guru offers help to Barramedas

MANILA - Television host and wellness guru Cory Quirino has vowed to help former beauty queen Rochelle Barrameda and her family.
Barrameda’s sister, Ruby Rose, was brutally murdered and her body was recovered from the murky waters of Navotas City last week. Ruby Rose's in-laws are being linked to the crime but they vehemently denied any involvement.
Quirino, who was once a kidnap victim, visited Ruby Rose’s wake to condole with the Barramedas.
The vice president of Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) promised that her group would do its best to assist the Barramedas in their quest to find justice for Ruby Rose. “Tutulong kami sa kanila.”
Political plans
Meanwhile, Quirino, who is being wooed to run for senator in 2010 elections, is set to announce her political plans next week.
The socialite said Sen. Manuel “Mar” Roxas II has been persuading her to run under his ticket “but I still have to weigh things out.” Roxas is yet to announce his political plan but he is perceived to be a strong presidential contender.
The granddaughter of the late president Elpidio Quirino does not deny the fact that she wants to run for public office to bring about change in the country. She, however, wants it to be a sure fight to victory.
She objected, though, to the idea of being an independent candidate.
“To run as independent, you need to, at least, have two hundred million campaign budget,” she pointed out.
