Andi: I'm happy for Albie
MANILA, Philippines – Actress Andi Eigenmann said she is happy with the strides former boyfriend Albie Casiño has made in his personal life.
Over a month since their controversial confrontation at a bar in Makati, Eigenmann considers as good news that the young actor is in school despite the opportunities of continuing show business.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Eigenmann recounted having discussed with Casiño his desire to continue his studies amid a thriving career as an actor.
"Okay po 'yun, kasi simula pa naman po nu’ng nakakapag-usap pa kami ni Albie, gustung-gusto naman po niya mag-aral. 'Yun lang po talaga gusto niya, mag-aral. So I'm really happy to hear na he's back to school pala, buti naman po 'yun," Eigenmann said.
Hearing of Casiño's alleged bitterness -- that what had transpired between them has "ruined his life" -- Eigenmann said it is only a matter of seeing things in a different light. In her case, the young actress said she couldn't be happier with her current stage in life.
"Depende naman po 'yun talaga kung paano natin tatanggapin 'yung bawat pangyayari sa buhay natin. Kung para sa kanya, kung ganung 'yung pinaniniwalaan niya, wala naman po tayong magagawa.
"I wouldn’t want to have my life any other way. Ang saya-saya ko po ngayon. Parang walang dahilan para maging bitter. Walang nawala sa akin eh nu'ng nawala siya," she said.
In fact, Eigenmann said, she is grateful for the gift borne out of their relationship -- her baby Adrianna Gabrielle.
"Masaya ako na nawala man po siya, may naibigay naman sa'kin na sobrang ganda na angel, and I really want to take care of her and love her and raise her really well," Eigenmann said.
"It's a waste of time for me to be bitter over someone who doesn't even care," she added.
Asked if she is open to her baby Ellie and Casiño meeting in the future, Eigenmann said: "I'll always be open to that because he's the father of my child. Hindi ko po pipilitin kung ayaw. Kung wala, wala. Pwede ko naman mapalaki si Ellie nang tama kahit hindi niya makilala si Albie."
On the possibility of raising Ellie with a man other than Albie, Eigenmann said being in a relationship is not her priority at the moment.
"I’m not ready for a relationship, and I don't want a relationship. I want to focus on my priorities and that's not one of them," she said.
Among Eigenmann's current priorities is her "rebirth" as an actress; she is set to do a comeback on television via ABS-CBN's upcoming series "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan."
"Rebirth 'yung tinatawag ko sa pagbabalik ko sa television, so ibang-iba ako na 'yung makikita nila, more mature, siguro mas better na. Gustung-gusto ko lang po talaga na mas mabuti pa ko than I was before," Eigenmann said.
"Kahit Puso'y Masugatan" is also top-billed by actress Iza Calzado, and actors Gabby Concepcion and Jake Cuenca.
It is set for a release later this year.
