Cheesa: No ill feelings over Jessica fever
MANILA, Philippines – Cheesa Laureta, the Filipina finalist in American singing competition "The Voice," said she has no ill feelings toward the fever pitch support for Jessica Sanchez, the Fil-Am-Mexican runner-up in rival show "American Idol."

While Laureta was competing in "The Voice," where she reached the contest's quarter-finals, Sanchez was amassing world-wide support from Filipinos as she performed week after week on "Idol."
Although the Hawaii-based Pinay got her share of support, the rival long-running competition proved to have the stronger viewer pull, garnering larger audiences for the pint-sized 16-year-old singer.
Asked if she ever harbored ill feelings toward the massive support for Sanchez, Laureta said she is among the "Idol" runner-up's fervent supporters.
"For me, I've supported all kinds of talents throughout the year. I support a lot of Filipino talents and Jessica's one of them. I've followed her since she was on 'America's Got Talent' and I'm very proud of her.
"There's not really pagta-tampo, because I'm having this great opportunity. Whatever support I get, it's a blessing for me," Laureta said in an interview on "Bandila" Friday.
To just be considered as among the country's international pride, Laureta said, already makes her grateful.
"Last year, I was working at the front desk at a gym, so I was nobody basically, so for me to even be in the same realm as Jessica and Charice and to be here today, that's a big blessing in itself," she said.
Laureta is currently in the Philippines for a series of projects, including a still under-wraps stint in the local version of singing competition "The X Factor," and a collaboration with singing sensation Charice.
