MANILA – The sister of former beauty queen and actress Rochelle Barrameda was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon, a day after a court disallowed her two children from going to her wake.

Family, relatives and supporters of the Barramedas, most of whom were wearing white, flocked to Manila Memorial Park in Sucat, Parañaque to say their final goodbyes to Ruby Rose, who was brutally murdered.

Gabriela Rep. Liza Maza and wellness guru Cory Quirino, vice president of Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption, were also present in the burial.

The Barrameda family has vowed that they would pursue the case until they obtain justice for her brutal murder.

Two years after she was reported missing, Ruby Rose's remains were finally found last week. Reports said Ruby Rose was strangled to death and her body was placed inside a rectangular steel case filled with cement.  She went missing after contesting a court ruling giving the custody of her children to estranged husband Manuel Jimenez III.

Manuel Montero, a suspect-turned-witness in the killing, claimed that Ruby Rose’s in-laws were behind the murder.

Based on Montero's confession, police filed murder charges against Jimenez III’s father, lawyer Manuel Jimenez II, and uncle, fishing magnate Lope Jimenez, before the Department of Justice.

Also charged with murder were Eric Fernandez, Spike Discalzo, Roberto Ponce alias Abet, Rudy de la Cruz and Montero.

The Barramedas had asked the Regional Trial Court in Las Piñas to compel Jimenez III to bring the children to Ruby Rose's wake but the court denied their motion Tuesday.
